Artists Give Voice to the Issues of Our World

Not only through their art but also by simply helping us reflect and communicate on topics that words alone often struggle to convey.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees of The Contemporary Dayton, thank you for making our Evolution Campaign an incredible success!

Recently at our signature fundraiser, the 28th Annual Art Auction on April 29, 2022, we announced the success of our Evolution Campaign. Thanks to our community’s tremendous generosity, we raised just shy of 1 million dollars for construction and program expansion and have been living our dream to rave reviews.

This grand occasion was also the eve of the one-year anniversary of the move to our new home at the Dayton Arcade, and we introduced Board Member and campaign champion, Dr. Robert L. Brandt Jr., who announced a challenge to seed the final part of the Campaign: The Evolution Endowment. With a goal of $500,000, we raised $29,000 that evening, and Dr. Brandt matched it.

And now we look to you.

Endowment funds will be used to provide critical support for The Contemporary Dayton exhibitions and programs. The last few years have proven how critical the arts are to support the health and well-being of our community and also how important it is for organizations like ours to build stability to manage through uncertain times. These endowment funds will provide us the freedom to move forward with creativity and resilience.

Please help us make an Endowment for The Co a reality. Join the Evolution!

Layout of the Galleries

Our new location more than doubles the exhibition and program space, drawing an estimated additional 100,000 visitors annually. The new space provides three unique galleries, a year-round store, and a multimedia space to enable a diverse array of art offerings to the community.
