The Contemporary Dayton Annual Fund Appeal

In 2026–27, The Contemporary Dayton will mark its 35th anniversary—founded by a visionary collective of women community leaders and artists—alongside the nation’s 250th birthday by centering THE FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION across its exhibitions and public programming.

For more than three decades, The Contemporary Dayton has served as a vital civic and cultural anchor, providing a trusted forum for open inquiry, critical reflection, and shared understanding—an especially urgent role in this moment of our nation’s history. This commitment comes to life in a bold season of artists whose work expands how we see, question, and understand the world around us.

Over the past year, we’ve been transparent about the financial challenges we’ve faced—and we’ve responded with focus and discipline. We have successfully reduced structural expenses, rethought contributed and earned revenue, and, with the guidance of new Board and Advisory Members, are actively building a more sustainable path forward.

Through your support, we continue to create space for dialogue, reflection, and connection—always ensuring that contemporary art remains a vital force in Dayton’s civic life.

Thank you!
