Our inaugural fundraising exhibition, In Small Measure, was an extraordinary success—bringing together 259 artists from 21 states and 5 countries, contributing 455 original works, with 255 artworks sold to date. The scale of participation and enthusiasm affirms the strength of our creative community, a powerful testament to the reach and inclusivity of our program, and directly supports exhibitions and public programs at The Contemporary Dayton. Thank you to every artist, collector, and supporter who made this ambitious initiative possible.
Funds raised through In Small Measure directly sustain TCD’s commitment to championing emerging, mid-career, and historically underrepresented artists—especially those addressing urgent social issues—while ensuring all exhibitions and programs remain free and accessible to the public.
Through exhibitions, talks, publications, and our digital archive, TCD amplifies artists’ voices and connects Ohio to the national and global contemporary art landscape. This work is rooted in the belief that art thrives when artists are free to question, challenge, and imagine new possibilities—and when audiences are invited into open, sometimes difficult conversations.
As we approach our 35th anniversary this year, we are leaning into A Season of Celebrating Freedom of Expression. At a time when creative voices are increasingly under pressure, we believe it is more important than ever to protect spaces where artists can speak freely and where communities can engage with complex ideas through art.
All remaining works from In Small Measure 2026 will be available through our CoSHOP, specially priced at $50. Many beautiful works are still waiting to be discovered.
